Dean Sparrow is a British national, but no place in the world has been his home like San Pedro la Laguna; a small indigenous village, the land of the Tzu’tujil Maya, at the shore of Lake Atitlan in the highlands of Guatemala.

Story of D’NOZ Restaurant

In 1997 Dean’s dream of running his own establishment became reality. D’NOZ Restaurant started off quickly as a famous traveler’s hangout serving a basic menu, offering table games and a free nightly cult movie. We have been blessed with long time local and foreign employees, visitors, guests and have continued to change to keep up with the world’s changing needs. In the last years D’NOZ has turned into a true professional international kitchen/restaurant, where table games and books often have to make place for electronic devices. D’NOZ still is a unique place where many lovely and creative souls from all corners of the world have met each other and enjoyed the D’NOZ experience. Many people come back to D’NOZ day after day, year after year. And when they do they recognize the same friendly faces from the great times before. Dean’s personality together with the friendly hospitality of the local people has made it possible to work to live instead of living to work.

Both of us worked in many restaurants and catering services all over the world and do this with all the passion we can give.
